Now four state govt employees’ bodies to begin ‘pen down’ strike

Kohima, November 20 (MExN): The Confederation of four Associations (CANSSEA, FONSESA, NSSA and NF&ASA) has threatened to begin its first phase of agitation with a ‘pen down’ strike on November 22 if the government fails to respond positively to its earlier demand by midnight of November 21. The strike will continue for three days, according to a press statement.

The Confederation had served a 7-day ultimatum to the government on November 14 to recommend the empanelled list of non-SCS officers to the DoPT/UPSC. With the government failing to give any positive response till date, it held a threadbare deliberation on November 20 and resolved to carry out the first phase of agitation, which will be followed by second and third phase “till the request of our legitimate rights are fulfilled,” said the statement from Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA), Federation of Nagaland State Engineers Services Association (FONSESA), Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA), Nagaland Finance & Accounts Services Association (NF&ASA).

“No positive response from the authority is taken as denial of justice to the legitimate rights requested by the Confederation of the four Associations,” it lamented.

The strike will be mandatory for all the employees under the umbrella of the Confederation of four Associations except Medical, PHED, Power, Fire Services, NST, IPR, Educational Institutions and other Public Utility Services, the statement informed. However, the Directorates and all District establishments are to comply with the pen down strike.

It was decided that the presidents and office bearers of NSSA and NF&ASA will give direction and check its member for strict compliance with the resolution adopted and action to be initiated against the defaulters as and where the Executive deems fit.

For CANSSEA & FONSESA, they will direct the entire sister Associations affiliated under them and the presidents and office bearers of the affiliated Associations to check and monitor that pen down strike is strictly enforced in their respective departments. All sister Associations will appoint one liaison officer and submit their names and contact number to the Action Committee by November 21.

The Control Room will be CANSSEA office till further notice. For queries and information, contact the following numbers: 9856136608, 8119068542, 7640831164, 9436076858.
