NPCB conducts green audit at Kohima teacher training institute

The Nagaland Pollution Control Board conducted a Green Audit at the Modern Institute of Teacher Education in Kohima on May 15.

KOHIMA, MAY 15 (MExN: The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) conducted a Green Audit at the Modern Institute of Teacher Education in Kohima on May 15.

A team comprising Er Aghali A Swu, Senior Environmental Engineer; Er Kevisede Pucho, Assistant Environmental Engineer; Mvudzeviu Shuya, Scientist ‘B’; Moakumzuk Jamir, Data Entry Operator; and other technical staff visited the institution to evaluate its environmental practices and sustainability measures.

The audit covered several key areas, including green cover and nature conservation initiatives, waste and water management systems, energy usage, and the institution’s overall carbon footprint.

During the visit, the NPCB team held discussions with Dr Kate Dandesh Kumar, Principal of the institute, and Kavani Hekha, IQAC Coordinator. The officials also offered suggestions on activities the college could undertake to strengthen environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the campus and community.

The findings of the audit will be compiled and shared with the institute, along with recommendations for improving its environmental sustainability efforts.
