Who does not know Imkong L. Imchen, the popular Home Minister known for his flip-flops? He is always in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. What is more intriguing is however, the way he had been allowed to continue as the Home Minister despite having admitted by him that he suffers from ‘foot in the mouth syndrome’. It is a disgrace for the people of Nagaland to have a Minister like Imkong L. Imchen having loose tongue. He should be removed from the Council of Ministers to save the honor of the office. It is unbecoming of him to use derogatory language in calling names demeaning the position he holds. Imkong L. Imchen should know that the NPCC had never demanded any response from him in the first place. Suffice to say, it was there in his rejoinder for all to see as to who was arrogant, perverted and frustrated.
The NPCC questions the silence of the NPF over the loose statement of Imkong L. Imchen on JLF resolution which will have far-reaching political ramifications. Keeping in mind, the common good of the people on Naga political issue, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) had joined the JLF in good faith cutting across party line. However, if such is the attitude of the NPF’s senior functionaries like the Home Minister, it is more than clear that JLF and its resolution was the NPF’s political game-plan to wrest power in 2013 election.
The NPF senior leaders should clarify as to whether Imkong L. Imchen’s statement on JLF resolution was of his own or the NPF’s stand. Should the NPF fail to give a satisfactory response, the CLP would have no option than to part ways (from JLF) and go our own way in which, Imkong L. Imchen and NPF will be held solely responsible for any negative fall-out.
The Congress is committed in its effort to find an honorable solution and if all the 60 legislators agree, the Congress legislators (MLAs) are even prepared to resign to prove their sincerity and seriousness. Are the NPF legislators prepared to resign? The Congress dares the NPF to prove its sincerity and seriousness.
