NPCC serves ultimatum over Palm Sunday transfer order

DIMAPUR, MAY 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has served a seven-day ultimatum to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, seeking the issuance of a corrigendum to the state government’s Transfer and Posting Notification dated April 13, 2025—Palm Sunday.

In a representation addressed to the Chief Secretary, the NPCC stated that it had earlier appealed for the correction of the notification date but received no response. The party objected to the issuance of official orders on a significant Christian religious observance.

“Failing compliance within seven days from the receipt of this representation, the NPCC shall be compelled to take its own course of action to ensure justice for Christians among the Nagas,” the statement signed by NPCC President and Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir read.
