KOHIMA, DECEMBER 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on January 19 staged a peaceful demonstration at Congress Bhavan in Kohima, expressing strong opposition to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's alleged remarks on Dr BR Ambedkar’s legacy.

The protest, which drew participation from members of the NPCC, Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC), and various affiliated groups, was a 'display of solidarity in defense of the Constitution’s core values of justice, equality, and democracy.'

In a statement, NPCC Chairperson of the Communications Department, Yanger Longkumer, emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar's contributions form the foundation of Indian democracy. "Any insult to his legacy is an insult to every Indian," the statement read.

The NPCC reiterated its commitment to upholding Ambedkar’s vision and urged citizens to join the fight against any attempts to undermine the Constitution and its principles.
