The NPF team led by MLA and Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon at Avakhung.

KOHIMA, APRIL 28 (MExN): The Central Team of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), led by MLA and Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon, arrived at Shilloi Lake Monday after a challenging journey towards Avakhung International Trade Centre (ITC).
A press release issued by the Press Bureau, NPF Central HQ informed that despite encountering minor mudslides along the route due to recent rains, the team cleared the way and there were no major disruptions.
The visit comes in advance of a major public protest rally scheduled to be held on April 29 at Avakhung ITC. The rally is being jointly organized by the Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) and the Naga People's Front (NPF) to voice strong opposition against the proposed scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the construction of border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border.
Preparations at Avakhung ITC are in full swing, with large numbers of people and public leaders expected to gather for the protest. Several prominent leaders and community representatives will deliver speeches.
The highlight of the event will be a keynote speech by MLA and NPF Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon, who is expected to strongly advocate for the protection of traditional land rights and oppose any moves undermining indigenous border communities.
With growing concerns among the public over border policies, Tuesday’s rally is anticipated to be a significant demonstration of unity and resistance against measures that are perceived as detrimental to traditional livelihoods and inter-community ties across the border.
