NPF central team with others during constituency tour to Meluri division on March 25.
Kohima, March 25 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) central team has conducted its constituency tour programme in Meluri Division on March 25.
Representatives from the central team including members from COB, Central Frontal Wings & Cells attended the program alongside office bearers from the Meluri Division.
Addressing the meeting, Khongjag Konyak, Sr. Vice President, COB, spoke about the merger of NDPP and NPF.
He stated that the primary purpose of coming together is to unite the Nagas and help facilitate a resolution to the protracted Naga Political issue.
He also emphasized the party’s ideology, noting that the NPF stands for the protection of Naga culture and traditions, and represents Naga identity.
He stated that under the leadership of Dr. Neiphiu Rio, the NPF is actively reorganizing to expand its presence in other northeastern states.
He urged party workers to remain united, stand firm, and extend their continued support to strengthen the party.
Dr. Chumben Murry, Sr. Vice President, COB and a Central Team representative, shared the objective behind their visits to various constituencies.
He explained that the tour aims to strengthen the relationship between the central and division levels, as well as to gather grievances from the divisions.
Encouraging party workers to move forward together, he affirmed that a strong party ideology combined with capable leadership is essential for long-term success.
He acknowledged the strong leadership of Dr. Neiphiu Rio, expressing confidence that he will guide the party progressively, and urged members to continue their support.
He further expressed his happiness about the leadership of Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, MLA & Advisor, N&RE, NSDMA, Government of Nagaland, noting that under his guidance, the district is progressing at a rapid pace. He urged the people to continue supporting him.
Pusazo Luruo, Working President, COB, shared how the party went through several changes—both in form and name—until it finally came to be known as the Naga People's Front under the leadership of Dr. Neiphiu Rio. He emphasized that the NPF represents Naga identity and urged the people to extend their continued support.
The presidential address was delivered by Reipetho S. Nyuwi, President, NPF Meluri Division while short speeches were also delivered by representatives from the Meluri Division, including Zürhotshü, President, Women Wing, and Wepe Mekrisuh, General Secretary, COB.
The programme was chaired by Chili Thurr, Working President, Meluri Division while vote of thanks was proposed by Thsüvila, Working President of the Women Wing.
