The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Youth Wing led by Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu has called for Sit-in-Protest on October 23 at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima from 10AM onward.

According to NPF Central Youth Wing, NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, leader of the NPF Legislature Party and Yitachu, Chief Whip NPF will address the gathering.

The Media & Press Bureau, NPF, Central Headquarters through a communiqué on Saturday stated that NPF Central Youth Wing has submitted a memorandum to the NLA Speaker, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier that it will spearhead an indefinite Dharna if the later could not settle the case submitted to him regarding the disqualification issue, recognition of NPF Legislature Party leader and recognition of the NPF Chief Whip.

The Central Youth Wing warned that it will go on indefinite Dharna before the Civil Secretariat from 23rd October 2017 beginning from 10 AM to 4 PM if the Speaker continues to delay passing necessary orders stating that “Justice delayed is justice denied.”

Further, the Central Youth Wing in its memorandum stated that the above issues were some of the pertinent matters pending at the Speaker’s office and delaying of these cases by the Speaker has been viewed as serious violation of the due process of law.

The Youth Wing also stated that the Government is for the entire citizenry of the state and the people have the right to know as to whether the various actions enacted by the people’s representatives are in line with the constitutional and legal provisions.

It may be mentioned that the Central Youth Wing has submitted the memorandum to the NLA Speaker on 18th October seeking his office to clear the pending cases in his office.

The Youth Wing said they have “firmly resolved to spearhead the indefinite dharna before the Civil Secretariat “till such time your good office issues necessary orders as per the provisions of the Constitution and the laid down Assembly Rules with effect from October 23, 2017 from 10AM to 4PM.”
