Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Youth Wing has served a ‘show cause notice’ to one Abemo Naga for allegedly circulating ‘fake news’ with the intention of harming the reputation of the NPF Secretary General. According to the notice which was issued to the media on Wednesday, Abemo Naga had made a post on the Facebook group ‘The Nagas’ and falsely accused NPF General Secretary Achumbemo Kikon of “lodging an FIR in Sanis Police Station regarding Akuk Village incident on September 11, thereby misinforming/misleading the general public about the situation with no verifiable facts or sources.” In this connection, the NPF Central Youth Wing asked Abemo Naga to “Clarify the unfounded allegation and offensive post within 7 days” and to meet the Central Youth Wing and Action Committee at the NPG, CHQ “with written apology.” “Failing to do so, the NPF Central Youth Wing will take its own course of action,” it added.
