NPF Central youth wing warns of indefinite dharna

Kohima, October 21 (MExN): The Central Youth Wing of Naga People’s Front (NPF) has submitted a memorandum to the NLA Speaker, Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, cautioning that it will spearhead an indefinite dharna if the latter could not settle the case submitted to him regarding the disqualification issue, recognition of NPF Legislature Party leader, and recognition of the NPF Chief Whip.

The Central Youth Wing warned that it will go on an indefinite dharna before the Civil Secretariat starting October 23 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm “if the Speaker continues to delay passing necessary orders as ‘Justice delayed is justice denied’,” according to a press release from Media & Press Bureau, NPF (Shürhozelie) Central Headquarters.

Further, the Youth Wing in its memorandum stated that the above issues were some of the pertinent matters pending at the Speaker’s office and delaying them by the Speaker has been “viewed as serious violation of the due process of law.”

Maintaining that the Government is for the entire citizenry of the state, it meanwhile said the people have the right to know as to whether the various actions enacted by the people’s representatives are in line with the constitutional and legal provisions.

The release mentioned that the NPF Central Youth Wing had submitted the memorandum to the NLA Speaker on October 18 seeking to clear the pending cases in his office.
