Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The NPF Dimapur Division while endorsing the appeal made by the civil societies of Dimapur, today demanded that a good cabinet portfolio in the new government is awarded to one of the elected leaders from Dimapur.
NPF Dimapur Division, General Secretary, in-charge media, Timir Choudhury in a press release stated that the district has not been represented in the ministry for a decade or so and hence, the deplorable living conditions which needs to be addressed immediately.
The division congratulated all five candidates under Dimapur district for their successes in the election to the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. While making the demand for the cabinet portfolio, NPF Dimapur Division mentioned that “the party drew a blank in the last election in the district and the one MLA we had in the government was due to the fact that he resigned from the Congress and won a by-election on NPF ticket. Hence, our performance this time around is laudable and we would like to thank the electorates for their faith reposed on our NPF party by casting their votes in our favour.”
While appealing all sections of the society to maintain peace and harmony post result, the NPF Dimapur Division also appreciates the leadership of Dr Shurhozelie and Neiphiu Rio for their acumen in helping the party to retain power despite all odds.
