There was excitement and confusion in equal measure on Monday night about the opposition NPF purportedly declaring to join the ruling PDA government in Nagaland. Opinions were however divided.

According to Imchen, the NPF had the confidence of all its MLAs and that the decision was taken today, while the NPF was still to work out how its MLAs would be accommodated.
Imchen’s party colleague, MLA Yitachu said it was a unilateral decision based on the idea of providing a unified front keeping in mind the Naga political issue. He said, “NPF alone we decided that if such a thing comes then we agreed in principle to join the government” provided the ruling PDA agrees.
Meanwhile, the PDA claimed to be unaware of the development. Minister in the ruling government Metsubo Jamir maintained he was not aware if at all such a decision was taken by the NPF.
