Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Naga People's Front (NPF) on Tuesday mourned the demise of its General Secretary (CoB) Chivotso Nienu who passed away in Guwahati on November 3.
“Late Chivotso was currently serving the party as General Secretary (CoB) and also in charge of the Central Women Wing. He was a committed and dedicated leader and gave his best of services for the party under various capacities such as President of Phek Division,” NPF President, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu stated in his condolence message.
The party expressed deep pain over the loss of its senior party leader and added that the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to be filled up.
The party also conveyed its deepest condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for God to grant them solace. It also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
NPF Phek: The NPF Phek Division in a separate statement expressed shock and sadness at the demise of Chivotso Nienu.
“He was the President of the Naga Peoples’ Front, Phek Division for Four consecutive tenures from 2006 to 2018 and was elevated to Secretary, NPF Central Office in 2018,” a statement from Wepe Mekrisüh, President NPF Phek Division stated.
“He was a staunch Regionalist who always stood by the principles and ideals of the Regional Party throughout his life…In his death, the NPF Party has lost a loyal and a committed leader which has created a vacuum which will be difficult to fill,” it added.
The NPF Phek Division conveyed condolences to late Chivotso’s family members and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
