NPF Prez Dr. Shürhozelie gets anticipatory bail

Dimapur, May 28 (MExN): An FIR was lodged by the BJP and NDPP against Dr. Shürhozelie, Naga People's Front (NPF) party, president accusing him of giving an inflammatory speech at an Election rally held at Kohima. The complaint was lodged against Dr. Shürhozelie for propagating and defending Article 25 of the Constitution of India that advocate for secularism and freedom of religion to all citizens of India, and ordered for his arrest.

The NPF while expressing shock in a press release issued by its Press Bureau stated that “Though the President was taken aback at his arrest order, yet he was prepared to get arrested for a good cause being the ever-sacrificial leader that he is. It was the timely intervention on the part of his secular party loyalists that insisted and obtained an anticipatory bail from the court before the cops arrived at his home to arrest him.”

The party also said that “such high handedness and autocratic behavior on the part of NDPP and BJP leaders, hurling wild accusations against one of the most veteran and tallest political leader in the state, for propagating the truth and defending the Constitutional values embedded in the Constitution of India such as that of the freedom of religion is highly questionable.”

NPF further condemned the BJP ruling government and its top leaders for “dropping so low as to even try and send the President of the NPF Party behind the bars for propagating nothing but the truth and rights of the people is an act of extreme cowardice, a defiant cry that all is not well in their camp which they love to call it the ruling government.”
