Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Naga People’ Front (NPF) today attacked the Congress with a statement that claimed as “amongst the best performing states” in “many of the flagship programmes.” The NPF media bureau issued a note today decrying AICC in-charge of Nagaland Edward Luizinho Faleiro for “harping on the attitude of the UPA.”
According to the NPF Faleiro, also former chief minister of Goa is a “protégé of SC Jamir as Governor of Goa, has been harping on the attitude of the UPA ignoring the ‘matter of fact’ DAN government’s rapport with the UPA Government.”
The NPF explained: “Mr Edward Luizinho Faleiro is well aware that the government of India’s allocation of fund for developmental activities to the states is affected only after thorough examination. Perhaps, he is not aware that Nagaland is amongst the best performing states in many of the flagship programmes and this is fully justified by the fact that many independent studies and reputed media organizations have awarded Nagaland prestigious national awards for exemplary implementation of welfare programmes.”
Faleiro statements during his visit to Mokokchung, the NPF said, are based purely “on hearsay” and are “immature and unbecoming of a person of his stature”.
“His comment that ministers of Nagaland are not known outside as they were from regional political party is just absurd and misleading and only speaks of his ignorance about the proliferation of regional political parties in many mainland states of the country,” the NPF stated.
The “magnitude of developmental progress” under the DAN, as the NPF called it, “is multidimensional and has outshined what previous Congress governments.” The NPF sought to justify it this way: “Maximum privileges have been availed by the youths in the field of employment within Nagaland, India and abroad. Creation of new business opportunities and entrepreneurship, higher study opportunity within the Country and abroad, improvised technical and finances to cultivators etc. have ameliorated with the DAN Government’s effort during the last 8 years significantly.” “We do not depend on ignorant leaders who appear like a shooting star without any knowledge or connect with the grassroots and command the party and its policies,” the party added.
