DIMAPUR, MAY 20 (MExN): Vice President NPCC Nillo Rengma has stated that the statement of the NPF press and media bureau and NPF Mokokchung division demanding the resignation of the NPCC President S.I. Jamir on moral ground after the by-election debacle could be termed the “zenith of its folly”.
“It was a collective responsibility and therefore the question of fixing the responsibility on President alone did not arise”, stated a press note from the NPCC Vice President.
The NPF seemed carried away by the euphoria of winning the by-election as to think that they can even meddle in the internal affairs of the Congress party, the press note stated adding that the “NPF should return to its senses and realize that winning the by-election did not give them the right to dictate terms on NPCC President”.
The NPCC stated that the “NPF’s moral dictate on NPCC President will have no effect on the Congress because the Congress party solidly stands firm together on its ground”. The NPCC affirmed that it had “full confidence in the leadership of S. I. Jamir, and will continue to repose faith in him”.
“The NPF may think that by playing into the hands of others, they can weaken the Congress party. But they should stop dreaming because that will never happen”.
