Kohima, August 31 (MExN): The newly formed Political Affairs Mission (PAM) of the Naga Peoples’ Front held a consultative meeting with the NSCN (IM) “to facilitate in bringing about a final solution to the protracted Naga political issue,” at Rhododendron Hall, NAPTC Chümoukedima on August 31.

According to a communiqué from the PAM, the NPF delegation was led by Leader of Opposition and PAM Chairman TR Zeliang while the NSCN (IM) delegation was led by its Chairman Q Tuccu.

“While urging upon the NSCN/GPRN delegation to be more accommodative with other Naga Political Groups, the NPF delegation assured that the NPF Party would continue to play the role of an active facilitator in the ongoing political dialogue for final accord of the Naga issue,” the communiqué said.

The NPF called upon the NSCN (IM) delegation to revisit the ‘Covenant of Reconciliation’ which was signed on June 13, 2009 and “to proceed with the ongoing peace process in the true spirit of reconciliation.”

The NSCN (IM) on its part, congratulated the newly formed PAM, and expressed hope that it would scale “greater heights with the support of the Naga people and the Political Affairs Mission of the NPF Party in particular,” the communiqué added.
