The programme was also attended by public leaders and civil society organizations from the constituency which included more than 30 GBs and Assistant GBs, the release stated.
“As part of the campaign the NPP team along with the party executives of Wokha District also visited the nearby Champang Oil Field area which despite its strategic importance has been lying under acute neglect under subsequent governments for a long period of time due to which despite the huge potential resource of petroleum the same has not been harnessed till date,” it stated.
During the programme, the party presidents and others discussed on the role of NPP in creating “better and long term opportunities for the people of not only Bhandari but also of the entire state so that a more resolute and transparent governance can be given to the people who have for a long time been reeling under the shadow of corruption and underdevelopment.”
During the visit to the constituency, it was also observed by the NPP team that despite sharing an inter-state boundary with a more developed Assam State, the road connectivity of the area was totally poor and lacking. The constituency and its adjoining areas do not even have proper drinking water facilities which were unfortunate and lamentable, the release stated.
