NPP holds digital conclave

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The first ever digital conclave of the National People’s Party (NPP) was held via video conferencing on July 11. The conclave was convened by the National president of NPP and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma from the party’s headquarters at Shillong.


According to a press release from the NPP Nagaland State, IPR & Media Cell, various central executive committee members including Thomas A Sangma, National General Secretary (Org), James K Sangma, National General Secretary (Finance), Mutchu Mithi, National General Secretary (Pol Affairs), Dr Lalrintluanga Jahau, National Secretary (Org), Paknga Bage, National Secretary (in-charge of Nagaland & Mizoram), Vivek Raj Wangkhem, National Secretary (in-charge of Assam) and all the State units’ officials led by State Presidents, attended the conclave.


The team of NPP Nagaland State was led by State President, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema.


The NPP passed a unanimous resolution during the digital conclave to voice against discrimination faced by citizens of the North East in various parts of the country based on race, culture, region and religion. The party also resolved to work towards national integration and respect for one another, the release stated.


During the video conference, all the officials and members from various State units congratulated the NPP Meghalaya State President, Dr WR Kharlukhi for winning the lone Rajya Sabha seat, it said.


Further, NPP Nagaland State expressed support to Dr WR Kharlukhi’s “well deserved victory” and expressed hope that this win for the NPP fraternity will bring about a new era of people’s representation in the NE, which has been neglected and sidelined for decades by subsequent governments at the centre.
