Kohima, June 12 (MExN): The National People's Party (NPP) Nagaland on Friday congratulated the party's National Working President, James K. Sangma, on his unopposed election to the Rajya Sabha from Meghalaya.
In a statement, the party described the election as a significant achievement reflecting the confidence and respect Sangma commands across the political spectrum. It said his leadership and dedication have played a key role in strengthening the party organisation and guiding its units across the country.
The NPP Nagaland said Sangma's election was not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for the entire party, recognising his commitment to public service and the ideals of the organisation.
Expressing confidence in his leadership, the party said Sangma would be an effective voice for Meghalaya, the Northeast and the aspirations of the people in the Upper House of Parliament, adding that his experience in governance and public policy would enrich the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha.
The Nagaland unit also wished him success in his new responsibility and prayed for wisdom, strength and good health as he assumes his parliamentary role.
