Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): A team of National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State undertook a 5-day visit of Manipur in solidarity and support towards the NPP candidates for the upcoming Manipur Assembly elections. 

According to a press release, the team, comprising 14 officials led by the State President Andrew Ahoto Sema who is also one of the star-campaigners appointed by the NPP Party High Command, covered some major constituencies, wherein they met and campaigned for the NPP candidates. The party is fielding 39 candidates to contest from major constituencies of Manipur state.

The NPP team from Nagaland as well as the local leaders and candidates of NPP Manipur shared their thoughts on the visions, policy, ideology, progress and rapid growth of NPP as a national party in Manipur which was a positive sign of all-round development. The NPP leaders and candidates from Manipur also underscored the importance of cultivating good relations with their neighboring counterparts and assured the Nagaland NPP team of full support during the upcoming 2023 elections of Nagaland. 

At present the poll bound Manipur State has three major contending parties with highest nominations in the fray for the upcoming Assembly Election viz. BJP, Congress and NPP out of which the NPP is seen as one of the major trend-setters and the party is hopeful for a decisive win in most of the constituencies during the upcoming Assembly Election, the release stated. 

NPP Nagaland State expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur Yumnam Joykumar Singh and all the party leaders and candidates for the hospitality and the Manipur State NPP team has also expressed gratitude for their counterpart’s visit, the release stated.
