NPSC responds to NNQF allegations

Kohima, February 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) on February 16 clarified that “the NPSC received 103 posts of Assistant Professors  and two posts of Librarian, totaling to 105 from the department of Higher Education and as such, no post was held back by the NPSC  as alleged by the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF).”

Earlier on February 12, the NNQF had claimed that out of the 110 posts, as per an office memorandum dated July 4, 2018 and a notification dated August 9, 2018, a total of 105 posts have been advertised till date.  The Forum had also stated that according to an RTI dated August 19, 2019, the reason cited for five posts being withheld in the first CESE advertisement, dated November 13, 2019, was mentioned as being under review and examination. It had requested the advertisement of the 5 posts as well.

The NPSC on Tuesday said that it published the exact number of posts requisitioned by the Department concerned.

The Commission is also not empowered to examine/review any requisitioned post, it stated, while adding that no RTI pertaining to the subject was received by the NPSC. The Commission also stated that no one from NNQF “has ever contacted this Commission on the subject cited above.”

In this regard, it requested all concerned to refrain from resorting to print media without verifying the facts from the source concerned.
