Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): The National People's Youth Front (NPYF), Nagaland State Unit, on January 26 has expressed deep sadness and grief over the passing of P Mongchua, former MLA of 57 Thonoknyu AC, who breathed his last on January 26 at his residence in Tuensang.
An update from the NPYF described Late P Mongchua as a respected leader who served the people of his constituency and the state with dedication during his tenure as a legislator, asserting that his passing is a significant loss not only to his family but to the community he served.
It further extended its deepest sympathies and solidarity to his son, MLA Benei Lamthiu, and the entire bereaved family.
“We share in your sorrow and stand with you during this difficult time. We pray that the Almighty God grants the bereaved family the strength and solace needed to bear this irreparable loss,” it stated.
NPP condoles demise of P Mongchua
Meanwhile, the National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State Unit also expressed its deepest sorrow and condolences on the demise of Late P Mongchua (Mongchua Khiamungan), former Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 57 Thonoknyu Assembly Constituency, and beloved father of NPP MLA Benei M Lamthiu.
According to the statement, Late P Mongchua passed away at his residence in Tuensang on January 26. It described him as a respected public leader, adding that he was among the early legislators of Nagaland, having served the people with dedication, simplicity, and a deep sense of responsibility.
At the same time, the party asserted that his contribution to public life and his legacy of service will always be remembered with honour.
Expressing condolences, the president of NPP Nagaland, A Nyamnyei Konyak, stated that his life of service and leadership has left a lasting imprint on the people of Thonoknyu and Nagaland at large.
“On behalf of the NPP Nagaland, I extend my heartfelt condolences to MLA Benei M Lamthiu and the bereaved family. May the Almighty grant them strength and comfort during this time of profound grief,” it stated.
