Kohima, October 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Resource Centre (NRC) on October 19 felicitated best performing girl students in the self-defence classes conducted under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Kohima.
The NRC in collaboration with the Kohima district administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) launched the classes in collaboration with Performing Art With Fitness (PAWF) under the theme “Invest in Girl’s Right: Our Leadership, Our Wellbeing” at TM Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) and Dr N Kire HSS.
Speaking on the occasion, Khriezotuolie Chase, Program Manager NRC lauded the efforts of the district administration Kohima for taking up this initiative and taking the cause of the Girl Child forward. While acknowledging the collaboration with the NRC, he also emphasised the need for more such programmes in the future. The NRC is focused on adolescent development and education for both boys and girls as well as on empowerment of persons with disabilities, inofmred the centre in a press release.
