Nring tops NBSE HSLC 2025 with six distinctions

16-year-old Lungyihangle Nring, who emerged as the topper in the NBSE High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2025, first learned of her result through a WhatsApp message from her uncle. The student from St Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur had been waiting anxiously for the official server to respond when the good news reached her.

Nring credited her success to the grace of God, saying, “It was all because of God’s grace.” She also expressed gratitude to her teachers for always guiding and nurturing her abilities. She thanked her family and relatives for their constant support and prayers.

Disciplined in her approach, Nring shared to The Morung Express that she usually studies four to five hours a day, which she increased it to over 10 hours duringher exams. As the topper, it was evident she scored distinctionsin all six subjects, securing 100 in Mathematics; 98 each in English, Science, and Alternative English; and 99 in both IT and Social Sciences.

She now aims to pursue a career in medicine and is in the process of selecting an institution for her higher studies.

Conveying a message to younger students, Nring said, “Always believe in God, because I believe He has a plan for each of us. You might want to give up sometimes, but never give in, because God will always see you through.”

Apart from excelling in her academics, Nring enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring do-it-yourself (DIY) activities.
