NSACS launches Differentiated Service Delivery Models

Kohima, March 20 (MExN): Dr. Keneinguzo Dzüvichu, Joint Director (CST), Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) launched the Multi-Month Dispensation (MMD) and Co-located ART-OST Centre (CAOC) under Differentiated Service Delivery Models (DSDM) on March 13 at ARTC Plus, Kohima.  

MMD will be implemented at ARTC Plus, Kohima and ARTC Plus, Dimapur, while CAOC at FIDU CAD Foundation, Dimapur initially, informed a press release received here.   The objective of the two models, Dzüvichu said, is to decongest the ART Centres by dispensing Anti-retroviral therapy (ART) for three months to stable clients, improve ART coverage among People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and key populations, and to reduce the travel cost and travel time to access services.  

He also emphasised that all the PLHIV and staff of ART Centres should co-operate and respect each other for the success of the DSDM, stated the release.  

Meanwhile, Bendang Jamir, State Program Coordinator I-TECH in his welcome address thanked all the stakeholders for the support received while developing the concept notes for the two models and during the site visits. He further stated the success of the models depends on the continuous support and participation of all the stakeholders. He therefore called upon everyone to join hands and work for the success of DSDM.
