NSBSG concludes 3rd phase district tour in Longleng & Mon

Kohima, May 3 (MExN): The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) concluded a two-day district tour to Longleng and Mon district on April 29 and 30. This is the 3rd phase tour of covering all the districts under Nagaland State.

A press release received here stated that the tour mainly aimed to create awareness about the Scouting & Guiding movement, strengthening the movement at the grass root level and engage directly with district units, educational institutions, youth bodies, church organisations, district officials and to have an established communication with the respective district administration.

The largest NSBSG tour delegation of 10 special members was headed by Nino Iralu, State Commissioner of Guides NSBSG. The delegation included Duoneinuo Kire, Vice-President NSBSG; Er Thepfuzakie Suohu, State Secretary NSBSG; VK Shah, State Commissioner (Scouts) NSBSG; Chubanungla, State Commissioner (Bulbuls) NSBSG; Kuoliebeizo Mepfhüo, State Commissioner (Rovers) NSBSG; Pudil Tsükrü, State Treasurer NSBSG; Vimezhonu Paphino, State Organising Commissioner (Guides) NSBSG; John Tochimong, State Organising Commissioner (Scouts) NSBSG; and Kekhrieselhou Theünuo, Asst State Training Commissioner (Scouts) NSBSG.

The delegates meet and held interactive sessions with Scouts and Guides and Unit Leaders, deliberation with district officials and head of institutions in presence of Deputy Commissioner, DEOs, SDEOs and other invited individuals. 

The touring team visited some few units viz, Good Shepherd School (Longleng), St Joseph School (Longleng), Don Bosco Hr Sec School (Mon) and Eklavya Model Residential School of Tizit (Mon). The tour also witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the districts reflecting their growing interest and commitment towards youth development through Scouting and Guiding Movement.

The release added that the scouting & guiding movement offers an ideal platform to young people (05-25 years) for Character buildings, leadership development, community services, physical-intellectual-emotional-social-spiritual building and self-dependant to become an asset to their surroundings and society in general. 

As part of the ongoing commitment to empower young people, the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) has encouraged and invited all the schools, educators, church organizations, youth bodies and like-minded individuals to come forward and join the movement.
