NSBSG Life members meet 2016 held

Morung Express News Kohima | April 20   The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) Life members meet 2016 was held on April 20 at the NSBSG Hq, Bayavü with Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary, Youth Resources and Sports, MTF & Lotteries, Nagaland and President of NSBS&G as the chief guest. Along with the meet, the foundation stone of NSBSG Golden Jubilee building was also laid.   Dr. Joyce Zinyü who spoke on behalf of Lifer Members said that choosing to be a scout and guide is to take a step of faith in taking the noble vision of total development of young people to become responsible citizens of the country. “What motivated me to join the NSBSG is that it is the largest youth movement that enables young generation who are eager to develop themselves. Hope to see a society and community that are progressive in the right way,” Dr. Joyce said.

  Khyomo Lotha, Ex-MP, Life Member and State Chief Commissioner who delivered message of greetings stated that Scouts and Guides Association was present even before the achievement of statehood which was then officially founded in 1967 after attaining statehood. Lotha also mentioned that Nagaland has the highest recipients of awards in the North East region. The NSBSG which is for the welfare and upbringing of young children is the only voluntary organisation and India has the largest number of Scouts and Guides among other countries, stated Lotha.   “The movement of Scout and Guides is a unique platform available to us to learn through experience, the value of friendship, hard work, harmony and humanity,” said Liezietsu adding that the activities of the movement such as community services, integration camps, exchange programs, and outdoor activities has inspired people to contribute positively in the development of the nation and society. Lauding the NSBSG which has been making progress in all fronts, Liezietsu added that the movement in Nagaland has further been focusing to harness the potential of youth by inculcating in them the core civilizational values such as compassion for all, respect to women and, truth and honest in life.   In conclusion, the Parliamentary Secretary reminded the members the purpose of the movement which is to serve humanity and that the service to humanity is service to God.   The welcome address was delivered by P Atuo Mezhür Sekhose, Life Member & State Commissioner while the program was chaired by K Neibou Sekhose, Life member and State Treasurer.
