NSCN (IM) blacklist online news portal

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has blacklisted EastMojo, a regional online news portal in connection to its news report which appeared on October 1 about an alleged meeting between the Ato Kilonser, Th Muivah with Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang.

Denying that such a meeting ever took place and terming the report as “simply fabricated,” an MIP release informed that the news report took the NSCN by surprise and it exercised the courtesy to contact the portal to refute the news report. However, the MIP alleged that the editor showed his defiance and instead hinted that the NSCN should issue a rejoinder.

The MIP said the NSCN pointed out that the Ato Kilonser would not stoop that low to meddle in the state politics while he is heavily occupied to make a breakthrough in finding a solution to the vexed Indo-Naga political issue.

However despite repeated request to rectify the report by issuing an apology for “publishing baseless and fabricated report,” the MIP release claimed that concerned online news portal had continued to act stubborn.

Maintaining that it has done its part to bring the portal to respect its sentiment, the MIP release said the latter showed no “apologetic mentality,” and therefore, it was compelled to blacklist EastMojo with immediate effect.
