DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 27 (MExN): The President of the Kuki Tribal Union, NSCN (IM) Lh. Paohao has alleged in a press note that Pu. Paohuelian Kipgen Zomi aged 52 years, S/O Late. Helkhulian of Hengbung Village was kidnapped from his residence at Hengbung Taxation Gate by Mr. Stephan Haokip KRA, Kangpokpi Area Commanding Incharge with the help of 43 AR and with the understanding of Shree, SK. Sharma, 59 Mountain Brigade Commander. In this connection the 43 AR said that, Paohuelian was killed in an en-counter at Tasar farm. This is a concocted story, stated the press note from the KTU, NSCN (IM).
“The fact is that he had been picked up by Mr. Stephan Haokip, KRA and taken to a place between T. Khollen & Changoubung and shot dead by himself. The claim of recovering an SLR and a 9MM Pistol is baseless and unfounded. He was (Paohuelian) going down stairs of his residence empty handed just to see off his guests and was kidnapped right from there”, stated the press note. In this connection the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) clarified before the general public that the KTU is a part of the NSCN-IM working for peaceful and harmonious co-existence between the Kukis and the Nagas as “we embrace the same faith and the same political will being immediate brothers”.
