Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on July 19 denied any association with four persons reportedly detained by Indian security forces in Manipur earlier this month.
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the NSCN (IM) said the four individuals, reportedly detained on July 14 in the Sharkaphung area under Litan Police Station, are neither members nor associates of the organisation.
The outfit identified the persons as Wungphayo Kasar (24), A S Ninglum (29), Yaoreingam Lungleng (24) and Vareiyo Lungleng (56).
"The persons named above are not members, associates or representatives of the organisation," the press release said, issuing the clarification for public information.
