Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): A students’ organization in Peren district today accused a cadre of the armed group NSCN (IM) of attempting to kill a villager of Samziuram village on the morning of September 4 around 9:15. The Samziuram Students Union issued a note today informing of the incident and identified one Chiepemi Thankhul as the perpetrator who “attempted the life” of one Taluba Zeliang of Samziuram Village without any reason at Jalukie town near BOC. “We the Samziuram Students’ Union strongly condemns the high handedness by the so call NSCN (IM) officer such act of barbarism by the erring officer cannot be accepted in our civilized society. We the SSU urge upon the NSCN (IM) higher authority to give befitting punishment and to immediately terminate his services from nation worker for his immature action,” the union said.
