DIMAPUR, JUNE 7 (MExN): A teacher of Government High School, Naginimora, A.K Singh was reportedly held by a cadre of NSCN (IM) yesterday. The teacher who resides at Bihobor, Assam was said to have been stopped on his way while returning back from school.
The NSCN (IM) cadre is said to have first asked for the teacher’s scooter and after some altercation took the teacher some distance away from the main town and demanded a sum of Rs. 500.
A local source who did not want to be named stated that the cadre had been drunk ‘he had tortured the teacher mentally.’ In a separate incident, another cadre of the NSCN (IM) is said to have physically assaulted a local boy on Tuesday evening at Naginimora for wearing army (camouflage) pants.
