Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today expressed sadness over the untimely demise of Elithung Odyuo on August 8 after a prolonged illness. Hailing from Riphyim village under Lotha Region, he was a Tatar of NSCN/GPRN.
“He joined the Naga national service in February 2004 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise,” the NSCN (IM) stated in a condolence message from its MIP.
The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in but selfless contributions to the Naga national cause “shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered at all times to come,” it said.
“The Naga national flag was flown half mast and all offices under GPRN remain closed today in honor of him,” it added.
It further offered its condolences to the bereaved family members of Late Odyuo and prayed that the Almighty God will comfort them in their hour of grief. “We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace.”
