NSCN (IM) mourns death of Tatar Mary Rayi

Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) led by its Yaruiwo, Q Tucco has mourned the demise of Mary Rayi, Tatar of the Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) on October 26 after a prolonged illness.  Hailing from Kachouphung village, she joined in the Naga national service on March 6, 1987. 

Stating that late Rayi served with full commitment and conviction till her death, Tuccu in a condolence message said that “the Naga Nation have lost a true Nationalist and the vacuum created by her demise cannot be filled, but her sacrificial service rendered to the nation shall always be remembered and cherished.” 

“I offer my deepest condolence to the bereaved family and pray that Almighty God to give them strength and courage at this hour of grief,” he stated in the message addressed to Phungreiwon Rayi, daughter of late Rayi.

Meanwhile, the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) also expressed grief over the untimely demise of Rayi. “She served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until her demise. The void created by her demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in,” a condolence note from MIP, NSCN (IM) stated. 

However, for her selfless contributions, late Rayi’s name “shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and she shall be remembered for all time to come,” it said.

The NSCM (IM) also conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members of late Rayi stating:  “It is our prayers that the Almighty God will comfort her family members during this time of grief. We pray for her soul to rest in eternal peace.”

The National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) also mourned the demise and said that the Naga nation has lost another veteran woman.

“The vacuity that has been created by her demise will be difficult to fill and the nation will remember her noble sacrifice for the cause of the nation,” NSWON said in a condolence note issued by its Chairperson Hosheli Achumi.

Offering its condolences to the bereaved family members, NSWON added, “May the Almighty God grant her soul an eternal peace!”
