Dimapur, Jan 13 (MExN): The NSCN-IM says it has stepped up ‘monitoring and checking’ to thwart “undesirable elements that have been staining the image of the Naga national struggle”, i.e., those seeking material gains under the pretext of the movement.
“Apprehending corruption and misdemeanors of individuals, who, in the name of nationalism have been and are scavenging for materialistic gains at the cost of the toils and sweat of general Naga public…the GPRN have stepped up monitoring and checking to thwart and prevent undesirable elements that have been staining the image of the Naga national struggle” stated an MIP note from ‘Assistant Section Officer’ Robin of the NSCN-IM. It observe that many ‘fortune hunters’ in search of not nationalistic duties and obligations but personal gains, have been disenchanted for their “illusive dreams” that culminated into illusions.
The NSCN-IM also mentions Hokuto Awomi and Neon Vikuto as being ‘scavengers’ with corrupt and unprincipled dispositions, who escaped to evade justice against their ways. “Politicizing and communalizing cannot rescue or disguise the vultures on the prowl. What will they again say when they defect from Khaplang to NNC or FGN?” the note queried.
