DIMAPUR, JAN 17 (MExN): In view of the prevailing situation, the Chairman (Yaruiwo) of the GPRN-NSCN (IM) Isak Chishi Swu has reassured the Naga people that the proclamation declared on January 13 2007 shall be “steadfastly honoured”. “We are sincere and we reaffirm it in truth and in faith because NSCN believes it is the only way to reconcile with one another under God”, the Chairman stated in a declaration issued from CHQ, Hebron. Swu’s declaration however made it very clear that the NSCN (IM) shall not allow any adversaries be it groups or individuals to take undue advantage of the proclamation in any manner. “Any attempt to exploit the proclamation such as going on an offensive against the Naga Army, move to occupy new areas or creating a situation anywhere shall be firmly resisted”, the declaration stated. “To this effect, I have ordered Naga Army Commanders to be on maximum alert and combat readiness”, the Chairman stated in his declaration.
