NSCN (IM) reaffirms to uphold and defend Framework Agreement

Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has “unanimously” reaffirmed to “uphold and defend” the Framework Agreement that it signed with the Government of India on August 3, 2015 as two entities. A Joint Council Meeting of Steering Committee and Council of Kilonsers of NSCN (IM) on July 12 further resolved that “individuals or organizations that stand opposed to the Framework Agreement shall be termed as anti Naga National Issue and anti peace process.” The NSCN (IM) in a press statement issued by its MIP added, “The historic Agreement, which was made in consideration of the sovereign right of the Nagas and the security interest of India, will protect the right, the identity, the land and the future of the Nagas.” It called upon all the Naga people “not to be misled by certain section of people who in order to safeguard their vested interest and ambition have been sloganeering anti Framework agendas and trading away the birthright of the Nagas.”
