DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): The NSCN (K) today reiterated its resolve to “boycott the celebration of Indian National day throughout Naga inhabited territories” in India. In this context, MIP, NSCN (K) in a press release released to the media informed that it has imposed a ban on celebration of Indian Independence Day on August 15. It “appealed to every Naga national to abstain themselves from participating in the said event.” It pointed out that since the last six-seven decades, the Government of India had been continuing her “relentless onslaught” through “massive military deployment empowered with unethical and inhuman AFPSA, Disturbed Area Act, Terrorist tag etc.” Regardless, the NSCN (K) said it had never been deterred and will keep up the revolutionary course to thwart and expel the occupational authority. It added that “Every Naga citizen must rise to the occasion, confront the illegal colonization, reassert our birthright, uphold the legacy passed onto us by our pioneers and commit oneself to liberate our nation.”
