This clarification was issued in order to reveal the truth behind the baseless allegation levelled against Kilonser Kewongkhum by Yimto Kilonser cum-CF member GPRN NSCN on 22nd issue of local papers stating that RAO was arrested and threaten to kill with Dao. On inquiry it was established that on that fateful day at around 1:00pm both Yamthong RAO and Kewungkhum (Education Kilonser) both were in the later’s residence in Tsg town as both were reported to be casual friends. They even engaged themselves in strengthening the peaceful and cordial relation that needed to be maintaining between all parties and even appreciated the efforts of various NOGs headed by the ENPO for the same.
Later, they parted peacefully minding their own business, than a few minutes later Kewungkhum was informed that some civilian had ran away with a weapon. Hence, on hearing the news, Kilonser Kewongkhum rushed to his village (Kuthur) about 10Kms away but could not apprehend the culprit who stole Govt. Arms (Navy Sten). Thereafter, he was returning to Tsg but about 7Kms away intercepted Mr. Yamthong who said that he came to pick up family members who had gone to field (paddy). But the reality is that he has no field there and doesn’t even have his private residence in Tsg town. Later on further inquiry it was found out that the ran away civilian had reached Tsg with the arms and was in the custody of one Maj. Ongmang of U group. Hence, the interception of Mr. Yamthong and the proof of the ran away person being in their custody is crystal clear picture of the modus-operandi.
Coming back to Kewongkhum, he was a chaplain in his earlier service in national service is well known to everyone around him establishing that he is a person who loves peace and takes up every opportunity to maintain and cultivate peace among all. Therefore, it is very silly on the part of Mr. Yimto to have false press statement when even in the presence of YImchunger Tribal Council (YTC) Yamthong had clarified that no sort of threatening took place. Hence, if anyone is not satisfied with the statements then in all honesty Kilonser Kewongkhum is ready for joint verification and verbal confirmation for the complete incident along with Mr. Yamthong in the presence of NGOs as witnesses.
