Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): The NSCN (K) today clarified that the two accused arrested in connection to ‘attempt on life’ on L Doulo, the proprietor of Kuda cold storage at 5th Mile Dimapur on September 18, are not its cadres as alleged. “Capt.Akheto Chopy and Aliet Haflong (Haflongbar) are not enrolled in NSCN/GPRN,” stated a press release from MIP NSCN (K).
“Likewise, it is also being clarified that Khumtsa Sumi, who claimed responsibility for September 18 debacle, is not the Finance Secretary of the NSCN/GPRN,” it said adding that he is “learnt to be employed by certain GPRN Official overseeing financial operations but not an officially member of the GPRN and in no manner the Secretary of Finance.” The Special Operation Team (SOT) of Dimapur Police, on October 23, had arrested two persons in connection with the case. A press release from Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police/PRO Dimapur had maintained that they were cadres of NSCN (K) and arrested “after more than a month of tracking their whereabouts.”
