NSCN-K (Niki) issues clarification

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Niki group) has issued a clarification to the NSCN (IM) over the summon issue of one Aboh Wangsu alias Abo Pungham from Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh.

In a clarification the NSCN-K (Niki group) said an individual by the name of Aboh Wangsu of Lamphong village in Longding district, voluntarily approached them claiming to have enrolled in the NSCN (IM) government in 2006 and had served as Tatar, and applied himself to join the NSCN/GPRN in the rank of Tatar.

His application along with his details was received; however, he was kept under observation until the time all formalities are completed. But even before his official appointment was made or declared he started going around collecting money in the name of NSCN/GPRN for his personal benefit. There was no accountability whatsoever from his end and his whereabouts became unknown, the NSCN-K (Niki group) alleged.

In the event of his disappearance and failure to report to concerned higher ups, he was then served a calling letter from the concerned authority so that whatever cases or allegations which are pending against him could be sorted out, it said.

The NSCN-K (Niki group) maintained that it had no knowledge if the said person was still a member of the NSCN (IM) or if he had already rejoined until the statement issued by the MIP, NSCN (IM) came to light.

The letter was served to him purely as a person who was probable to be appointed as Tatar in the NSCN/GPRN and not as a functionary of the NSCN (IM) government. There was no ulterior motive behind issuing a calling letter rather than to solve the issues of financial misappropriation pending against him. It is ascertained that Aboh Wangsu and Abo Pungham is the same person. He has also been using numerous other names for his convenience.

Dubious characters like Aboh Wangsu alias Abo Pungham alias Abo Bolam creating misunderstanding among Nagas should be summarily terminated from Naga National service irrespective of Naga political parties, the clarification stated.
