DIMAPUR NOV 26 (MExN): Reacting sharply to the clarification and version given by Minister of Roads & Bridges Tokheho Yepthomi regarding allegations leveled against him of being in league with the NSCN (IM) as well as the November 8 incident, the NSCN (K) warned that the organization would be forced to ‘pursue’ leaders like Tokheho Yepthomi who live by blackmailing and deceiving the public.
A representative identifying himself as Commander, Union Territory-I of the NSCN (K) told The Morung Express over phone that leaders like the aforementioned Minister, earned their livelihood by blackmailing one group or the other through deception and deceiving the people at the same time dishonoring the prestige of the office they (leaders) hold. “If he is ignorant about the incident why then (did) he recount it literally by himself (in the media)” the representative said adding that Phuyeka, being a cadre of the organization was assigned to interview the minister on ‘personal accord but was officially deputed’. Rubbishing the claims of the Minister that the cadre was drunk the NSCN (K) representative said that Phuyeka was not drunk but sober at that time. “They (the minister and his PS) are only trying to save their own skin but the fact is that the NSCN (K) doesn’t make allegation but stress only on facts” said the organization’s representative reacting sharply to the clarification given by the Minister through the media. In this regard the organization sternly warned that it would pursue such ‘deceiving’ leaders.
The reaction from the NSCN (K) comes in the wake of the clarification made by Minister Tokheho over allegations that he was in league with the NSCN (IM) and harboring its cadres at his residence as well as on the charge that on November 8 he had deployed NSCN (IM) cadres to accost the rival group.
