DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The NSCN (K) has termed as baseless the allegations made by Lt Gen Niki Sumi against the “current leadership.” It issued a press release on July 30, through its Ministry of Information & Publicity, further stating, “The entire NSCN/GPRN both Civil and Military under the leadership of Mr. Yung Aung is fully intact and the recent development does not harm or change the status quo of the Party.”
It accused the “expelled leaders” as agents of the Myanmarese military (Tatmadaw) and Indian spy agency— RAW and stating that Sumi, Starson Lamkang and Nyemlang Konyak have “always been opposed to the current transformation policies of the NSCN/GPRN.”
While stating that Lt Gen Sumi has distanced himself from the affairs of the NSCN (K) for the past few years, it claimed that Sumi and his associates could travel freely when the “Naga army” was threatened the armies of India and Myanmar.
It added, “Niki has been always in support of a "Parallel government" within the party with intent to officially divide the Party based on the artificial boundary line” and Nyemlang and Starson fell into his trap.
It further appealed “all Nagas” not to be misinformed by the “propaganda of the expelled group.”
“We urge you to examine the facts rather than fictitious reports. The NSCN/GPRN and its members does not want to harbor hatred against our own brothers. But we will not tolerate with any conspirators or the violation of our sovereignty,” it said.
