Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): The NSCN (K) has asked the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) member Rev. Pukhato to produce documents as claimed by the latter that the former had issued a statement that he (Khaplang) will no more interfere in the issues concerning the Nagas in India and within the “artificial” boundary of Nagaland.
NSCN (K) MIP Secretary Sangso Mongzar Naga, in a statement recollected the meeting between members of FNR and NSCN (K) at Jorhat on March 25, 2012 where it was reported that FNR member Rev. Pukhato had claimed that the outfit’s chairman purportedly sent an endorsement letter to the FNR that Khaplang would no more interfere with the issue of Nagas in Nagaland.
NSCN (K) informed that on enquiry, it was learnt that no such communiqué from the Chairman SS Khaplang was circulated and that the chairman had asked “Kilonser” Wangtin Naga to communicate with the FNR in “good faith.”
However, the NSCN (K) said it could not authenticate Rev. Pukhato’s claim and therefore demanded from the FNR member to produce any relevant papers to substantiate his claim within five days time to prove the claim with evidences.
MIP Secretary informed that its chairman SS Khaplang still stood firm on Nagas stance in the global arena and that he (Khaplang) does not discriminate Nagas wherever they are settled. “According to chairman SS Khaplang there is no such thing as Nagas of Myanmar or Nagas of India,” the statement read.
Further, reiterating the group’s stance on Naga political issue, MIP Secretary informed through the release that the organisation had already informed members of JLF during their meeting with the NSCN (K) leadership at Mon that it would not be party to any solution that falls short of sovereignty.
