CKS to dissolve Chang region of NSCN (Khango)
The Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) has meanwhile decided to dissolve the Chang region of the Khango-led NSCN (K) within the Chang soil with immediate effect.

This was resolved in an emergency meeting held on August 5 after the killing of Mulong Chang on August 4 in Tuensang town. The CKS, the apex body of the Chang community said that its resolutions were made considering the gravity of the situation.

Having established that the incident occurred due to internal conflict between the Khango-led NSCN (K) members, the CKS said that it had “time and again” even advised and reprimanded them.

This incident would not have happened if the concerned had paid heed to the advices and took corrective measures, the CKS stated.

In this regard, the CKS resolved to dissolve the Chang region of Khango-led NSCN (K) within the Chang soil. The CKS informed all the cadres and officers of the group to withdraw their membership. All Village Councils have also been informed “to ensure that no citizen of their village enroll themselves or continue to serve the said faction.”

Further, the CKS requested the law enforcing agency “to leave no stone unturned” in arresting all those involved in the incident and initiate action as per the law.
