DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has disclosed that it has submitted a compliant to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India on what it termed as the “unconstitutional act of Assam Rifles”, which included “raiding and ransacking NSCN (K) Cease-fire Office, Mon, Nagaland on 16th March,2012 when its Supervisor was in New Delhi attending Cease-fire related meeting. Taking serious note of this development, the NSCN Khaplang in a press note issued by its MIP office has demanded for the return of 7 seized Arms pointing out that it was awaiting a positive response. Incase its demand is not fulfilled; the NSCN Khaplang stated that it was “likely to boycott any Cease-fire meeting”.
The NSCN Khaplang stated that it was “betrayal of term of Cease-fire Agreement by the GOI whereby it used the Assam Rifles to carry out the raid. However the NSCN Khaplang pointed out that it “felt proud of what Assam Rifle have done against NSCN as their brutal action sent clear message to people across Naga Country that, the Assam Rifle are not the friends of the hill people rather recalled back their brutal action on the Naga women and men during 1960s”.
Stating that the Indian Army was set to become the world’s third most disciplined Army, the MIP note however expressed regret that the Indian Army had become “tools in the hands of certain elements who have misrepresented and passed on wrong information against NSCN (K) who is a matured Revolutionary Government having its own system of administration never wavering from its commitment”.
Pointing out that the cease-fire office was “the part of that commitment”, however it “was unilaterally raided and ransacked by the 6 AR on fouls allegation, yet they found nothing other then authorized arms 5 attached to Cease-fire Office which was officially permitted by the GOI and 2 arms for the Supervisor, CFSB under red ID card”. The MIP note claimed that the AR Officer are after “personal fame, reputation, and promotion through brute means” and that they always disturb the “peaceful atmosphere taking the name of high authority but they are main culprit who misrepresented the situation to their hierarchy and sought promotion to carry out unwarranted action causing hamper into Indo-Naga relationship”.
Stating that the “unfortunate fratricidal killing in Naga kitchen started since 1980s, several attempts have failed to stop violence among Naga brothers till date”, however the NSCN expressed optimism “of peaceful solution to all kinds of misunderstanding among the Naga brothers shortly”. “The NSCN never try to justify any killing but how comes AR raided on unfortunate killing of Kholi-Kitovi cadres? The NSCN took very light when Kholi-Kitovi group attacked the proposed Sub-Office at Dimapur on 19th Dec. 2011, again on 5th Feb. 2012 same group killed 3 NSCN cadres cold bloodedly in Dimapur, fallowed by cold blooded murdered of NSCN cadre at Tizit on 18th March 2012 by Kholi-Kitovi group, obstruction of electricity connection to Ponghong designated Camp of NSCN (K) by beating and threatening the laborers of capital punishment which cause complete halt of the work”, the MIP note stated.
The NSCN Khaplang has therefore stated that the Assam Rifles should “clarify their stance as to whether they are for peace or inimical forces habituated citing with some weak Naga faction against other Naga Revolutionary group?” Pointing out that the AR has no role in Naga reconciliation and unity and “yet they portray as if they are for Naga peace and shading a crocodile tears”. The NSCN therefore appealed to the Nagas not to be “disheartened and felt humiliation for raiding Ceasefire office rather it should be taken as awakening call”.
