NSCN (K)’s ‘humane’ gesture: 2 rival cadres released

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the NSCN (K) for the unconditional release of two cadres of the GPRN/NSCN namely Bangpe Shio, s/o Shing Shio of Nokyan village, Tuensang district and ‘Lt’. Yanglise Sangtam, s/o Tsayangse Sangtam of Natsami village, Kiphire district, who were nabbed by their rival group today in Kohima. 

“Following the immediate intervention and fervent appeal of the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) to spare the lives of the two persons, the NSCN (K) in its large heartedness and magnanimity released the two cadres of the rival group unconditionally”, informed a press note issued by Khrielievi Chüsi President, AYO.

The two persons were handed over today to their respective tribal hohos in Kohima, namely Khiamniungam Hoho, Kohima, and the Sangtam Union, Kohima, in the presence of Angami Youth Organisation and some representatives of the Sumi Hoho, Kohima.

The Angami Youth Organisastion expressed its gratitude to the NSCN (K) for their humane stand and noble gesture which will go a long way in healing the ailing soul of Nagaland. The AYO also appealed to all the different political groups to exercise restraint and refrain from violence and bloodshed among Naga brothers so as not to salvage the image of Naga brotherhood before the world at large.
