NSCN (Reformation) alleges ‘unprovoked firing’ by AR

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 28 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today condemned what it alleged was “unprovoked firing” at their camps by the Assam Rifles on January 11 and 27 at Thalot/Kenon and Sallang villages in Arunachal Pradesh.

“They have literally lay siege to the area by laying ambushes in all ‘in and exit’ routes to the camps and are even planting bombs, launching of operation against the NSCN taking advantage of the Cease Fire…” a press note from the MIP of the NSCN (R) alleged.

“Every Naga individual is yearning for peace and NSCN (R) is no exceptional, but with the recent spate of violence and unprovoked firings by the Indian jawans at our camps, it appears that some elements are actively at work to demean and derail the sincere efforts put by both the representative of the GOI and the NSCN leaders at the highest level,” it said.

The NSCN (R) urged the Government of India to take appropriate measures and halt the “unwarranted acts of their jawans immediately in the interest of peace, or else we may have to reconsider our commitment as talks can't be held under duress.”
