NSCN/GPRN (Niki) extends Tuluni greetings, calls for Naga unity

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) on Monday extended Tuluni greetings to the Sumi community, urging people to preserve their cultural heritage, strengthen unity and work towards peace with justice.

In a message issued by Cabinet Secretary Repento Ayemi, the organisation conveyed warm greetings to Sumi people across Nagaland and beyond, describing Tuluni as a festival that symbolises thanksgiving, friendship and community life.

The statement said the festival embodies the enduring values of unity, hospitality, mutual trust, hard work and respect for tradition, which have sustained the Sumi community through generations.

Calling for the preservation of Naga cultural heritage and customary institutions, the group said the identity and dignity of the Naga people must be safeguarded. It added that a people who remain faithful to their history, traditions and collective aspirations cannot be erased by the passage of time.

The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) said the strength of the Nagas lies in unity despite tribal and regional diversity, and stressed the shared responsibility of protecting the legacy handed down by their ancestors.

It appealed to all sections of Naga society to use the occasion of Tuluni to promote greater understanding, solidarity and cooperation. The outfit also called for renewed commitment towards pursuing peace with justice, upholding the rights and dignity of the people, and working for the welfare and advancement of future generations.
